Reef Fishing A day reef fishing trip aboard the MV Manutere is a fantastic way to spend a day on the water, catch some fish, and experience what the ocean has to offer. Whether you’re a single person wanting a day out on the water, a family, or a workgroup, we can cater for you.
This is the trip for you, if you have a group you'd like to get out on the water.
We take bookings for day trips, 24 hour trips and evening trips. A work shout, stag or hens party, social club or fishing club or your family.
The skippered vessel is yours for the trip. We have a barbeque on board, private flush toilet, downstairs area with sleeping accommodation for up to 8. You are welcome to bring your own fishing rods and bait, but if you dont have any with you, you're more than welcome to hire ours.
For day trips we generally depart the Tauranga Bridge Marina at 7am and return at 4.30pm, but if those hours don't suit your group, talk to us about what does, we are happy to work with you.
The 24 hour trips usually depart at 6pm and return the following evening. Fish in evening on the way out to Tuhua island, stay on board overnight, Brett provides breakfast onboard and you'll be fishing in no time.

Hapuka Fishing Hapuka fishing for the deep water species is a very interesting form of fishing, with many different species available to be caught. The deep water knolls out of Tauranga have caught many trophy fish over the years, and are continuing to produce these beautiful eating, hard fighting monsters of the deep.
