We’ve been working in the deeper water after trying the closer areas with limited success. Normally it’s where the fish are at this time of year, but we’ve been hearing that it’s a late season.
The amount of barracuda we’ve been catching backs this up, normally they’re worst well before Christmas. Still, better them and good tarakihi and trevally, [not much snapper yet], than not much of anything.
The N. & N.E seem to be helping though, we caught some skipjack and albacore tuna last Thursday, first of the season, and dropped quite a few, so hopefully they’re around for a while now.
It was snotty enough that we lost the weekend, but it’s certainly looking better overall.
Hi, Brett,
Just wanted to say, on behalf of the House of Travel Boys , a big thanks to you and your deckie for such a great time. The boys loved every minute of it, oh, I guess, apart from the few chunderers the first nite. I know we’ll certainly recommend your charters to others who are interested in a great day out. The boys got 2 bags of fish each to take home, which was a bonus.
Thanks again.
Cheers
Paul
Hi there Brett, just a quick thank you for the lovely fishing trip we had today.
Myself my wife and parents had a fantastic time.
It may have been a bit choppy today but luckily my family didn't supply any extra burley and really enjoyed the trip. We have about 2kgs of Terakihi filets in the fridge which we look forward to enjoying tomorrow.
After trying different charter boats I have found Tauranga Marine Charters by far the best.
We really appreciate you helping and guiding my wife and parents who are first time fishers to get set up and get onto some fish.
Looking forward to doing it again sometime.
Many thanks
Aaron
Thank you for a great day yesterday. The trip was a surprise getaway for Robs 60th birthday and none of us had done a charter trip before nor can we fish for Terakihi as snapper, trevally and kingfish are target species in the Coromandel.
A most enjoyable day
Regards
Tanya
