Very good around the Astrolabe

We tried a few different spots this week. More Westerly forecasts meant heading towards Mayor was going to be too beam on, so  a more comfortable trip was had by heading more East.

Friday was beautiful, and the fishing also very good around the Astrolabe, so even home a bit early.

Saturday’s forecast was similar to Friday’s, but ended up  with more S.W. and  a lumpier sea than expected. Friday’s spots were less productive, so  we tried a few different ones, eventually finding good quantities of tarakihi, along with snapper, some trevally and a couple of legal kingies, one of which bounced back over the side after being taken out of the net. Sorry bout that!

Still, a good couple of days.

WHAT OUR FANTASTIC CLIENTS SAY

  • 25.1.2013

    Hi Daphne

Just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thanks to Brett for the great day yesterday. Boys had a heap of fun, especially once over the touch of motion sickness, and were very thrilled to catch some fish. They are in the fridge for a feast tonight!

Hope to get back before too long and do it all again.

    Kind Regards
    Jo Davis

  • Hi there Brett, just a quick thank you for the lovely fishing trip we had today.

Myself my wife and parents had a fantastic time.

It may have been a bit choppy today but luckily my family didn't supply any extra burley and really enjoyed the trip. We have about 2kgs of Terakihi filets in the fridge which we look forward to enjoying tomorrow.

After trying different charter boats I have found Tauranga Marine Charters by far the best.

We really appreciate you helping and guiding my wife and parents who are first time fishers to get set up and get onto some fish.

Looking forward to doing it again sometime.

    Many thanks
    Aaron
