Picked up some good tarakihi to save the day

We got a midweek trip in around he Astrolabe, good conditions with no wind and a fluctuating current which meant a lot of reanchoring as we were swung off the marks all day. The fish were biting  though, and we even picked up 2 good kingys.

Saturday was similar, but the fishing was quite a bit harder everywhere. Frustrating when expectations are high.

It was a lot better than our overnighter though. One of the toughest we’ve had around Mayor. Hardly any reef fish, and the same with the Hapuku drifts.

We had taken the group out previously and had an excellent trip, cold comfort though.

A last gasp stop  at the Pinns paid off, thankfully, and we picked up some good tarakihi to save the day.
