November has been a quantum improvement on the last couple of months weatherwise, barely a day that hasn’t been fishable.
The fishing’s continued to be patchy, with some good catches coming up for some , and a bit slow for others.
The interesting thing has been there appears to be no real rhyme or reason for the variation.
One person will be doing well with squid, next one not, same with tuatuas, bonito etc. Similar gear, hook size, sinkers, but varying results.
It’s not just the ability of the fisher, although that helps, it really is the luck of the day to a large extent.
We’ve had a variety of cross currents and wind shifts which might be some of the reason, but at the end of the day, we’re on the top, they’re on the bottom and what goes on in between is pretty much a mystery.

Well, we are all home from a wonderful day out. This is a thank you to all the crew from all of us.
The whanau had a memorable and happy day out on the sea. Everyone caught a fish, so no household went without.
Also, thank you for being so good to our kids - I hope they didn't get in your way too much. But they enjoyed their day and had their own thrills on the boat.
It was a good day - and when our families do this again we’ll definitely be back.
THANK YOU AGAIN!!
Have an awesome and happy year.
Kind Regards,
Dawn A. Whare

Hi Daphne ,
Please thank Brett for a great trip the other day
We didn’t get on to the Kingi’s on this occasion but we do appreciate the conditions were against us and we know Brett did everything possible . Still, everyone got plenty of fillets to take home and we thoroughly enjoyed the day
You will see us again and we will recommend you
