Hapuku trip went well, topped with a 20kg+ kingie

Another 1 day week thanks to a sloppy N.E.  on Saturday, but it settled nicely through Sunday and our public day Hapuku trip went well.

We picked up some skippies on the way out, so plenty of fresh bait. The drifts went well, with bluenose up to 10kg being caught, and one drift producing  bluenose, gemfish, a couple of bass and a big kingfish. It went 22kg on our suspect scales, pretty sure it was a bit heavier than that, but a nice bonus fish nonetheless.

We have caught a few in the deep water, but that was the first for quite a while.  It had several  alfonsino in it, which we also haven’t seen in a while, so hopefully the predominant N.E. we’ve had continue to bring the fish in closer.

WHAT OUR FANTASTIC CLIENTS SAY

  • Thank you for a great day yesterday. The trip was a surprise getaway for Robs 60th birthday and none of us had done a charter trip before nor can we fish for Terakihi as snapper, trevally and kingfish are target species in the Coromandel.

    A most enjoyable day

    Regards

  • Hi Daphne ,

Please thank Brett for a great trip the other day

We didn’t get on to the Kingi’s on this occasion but we do appreciate the conditions were against us and we know Brett did everything possible . Still, everyone got plenty of fillets to take home and we thoroughly enjoyed the day

You will see us again and we will recommend you

They had a great time and a special thanks to Brett for making the day so enjoyable for them!!! Jordan has not stopped talking about his day out fishing and has been proudly showing the photos of his day to everyone he comes into contact with!! They would love to go out again next year if we return to the BOP if Brett would have them on board again!!

    Regards,
    Lynne.
