Headed Out Towards Mayor on Saturday Morning
10 June 2015

Nothing much happened midweek, not particularly good conditions, but the weekend looked good, so we headed out towards Mayor on Saturday morning.

The forecast was for light N.Easterlies and there was a  bit of swell, but a couple of miles  before the Pinns it really got bad and  conditions were pretty well unfishable, so back we came.

It was a bit of a mystery at first, but the only fish sign was on the Western side, I realized then it was a strong Westerly current, opposite to the swell, standing it up to 2 to 3 m. A real slopfest.

By Sunday it was calm, no current, a beautiful sunny day and good fishing. 24 hours can be a very long time in this game.

WHAT OUR FANTASTIC CLIENTS SAY

  • Hi there Brett, just a quick thank you for the lovely fishing trip we had today.

Myself my wife and parents had a fantastic time.

It may have been a bit choppy today but luckily my family didn't supply any extra burley and really enjoyed the trip. We have about 2kgs of Terakihi filets in the fridge which we look forward to enjoying tomorrow.

After trying different charter boats I have found Tauranga Marine Charters by far the best.

We really appreciate you helping and guiding my wife and parents who are first time fishers to get set up and get onto some fish.

Looking forward to doing it again sometime.

    Many thanks
    Aaron

  •

They had a great time and a special thanks to Brett for making the day so enjoyable for them!!! Jordan has not stopped talking about his day out fishing and has been proudly showing the photos of his day to everyone he comes into contact with!! They would love to go out again next year if we return to the BOP if Brett would have them on board again!!

    Regards,
    Lynne.

  • Thanks Brett for taking us out yesterday, most had a great day especially Peter who caught the big king fish.
