Quite a busy week, with the fishing continuing it’s volatile nature. Earlier in the week we continued in the 80m+ range with good results.
The Pinns and around Mayor mainly producing tarakihi and red snapper.
Friday was a shocker though, a first in 18 years doing this, nothing takeable caught, some barracuda and scarpies were it. And 2 miniscule mackeral around Karewa.
Unbelievable.
So we worked around Motiti the next few days, and did quite well, still mainly tarakihi, but the odd nice snapper among them.
The effects of the big tides and moon are the most of the reason, tidal currents, wind and swell all over the place. When it eases it’s ok, when they pick up it gets tough.
It’s summer though, hot and calm so good enough.

Brett, just a note to thank you and Wade for looking after us and helping with the filleting (well.... doing most of the fish).
Every one passes on thier thanks, and wishes you the best for the season.

Hi Brett,
This was a trip to remember , the company, fishing , and the way we were looked after was second to none . and I have done a lot of trips ,
I would like to thank You Brett and your Son Ben , Ben was an AWESOME deck hand , we didn’t need to do anything but fish and no matter where you took us there was fish there ,
The jigging for Kingi’s was un-real most of us have never seen this done , only on TV , but to do Jigging, hell yes it was fun.
Once again Brett thank you and son Ben for a trip that we will talk about for a long time
This is from the… BPT pig hunting Whanau
Cheers

Well, we are all home from a wonderful day out. This is a thank you to all the crew from all of us.
The whanau had a memorable and happy day out on the sea. Everyone caught a fish, so no household went without.
Also, thank you for being so good to our kids - I hope they didn't get in your way too much. But they enjoyed their day and had their own thrills on the boat.
It was a good day - and when our families do this again we’ll definitely be back.
THANK YOU AGAIN!!
Have an awesome and happy year.
Kind Regards,
Dawn A. Whare
