Another week of mainly good fishing

Another  week of mainly good fishing.

We’re still  working the area outside Motiti for the bottom fishing as it’s been the most consistent.  Thursday we only shifted twice all day, with mainly tarakihi ticking  along  all day.  Friday we went back to the same  spots and had a lot slower day. Tried other , shallower areas but no go anywhere.

Our overnighter saw a few snapper caught around Mayor that evening with good tarakihi fishing, minus a few to the tax collector[a  2.5m Mako].

We also got 6 albacore  and had a marlin jumping by the boat so a  double bonus. The drift fishing was slow, just a few bluenose.

Sat/Sun was similar,  with a nice hapuku, bass and small gemfish  caught before the N.E. slop got the better of some of the crew and we headed home.

WHAT OUR FANTASTIC CLIENTS SAY

  • Hi Daphne ,

Please thank Brett for a great trip the other day

We didn’t get on to the Kingi’s on this occasion but we do appreciate the conditions were against us and we know Brett did everything possible . Still, everyone got plenty of fillets to take home and we thoroughly enjoyed the day

You will see us again and we will recommend you

Brett & the Manutere, well i must say that over the last 8 years or more i have been out on day & overnight trips plus the TGA game fishing one base & charter tournaments  with Brett, you would be hard pushed to find a better skipper who will do his upmost to put you on the fish !!! & i mean go the extra mile !! literally, always good for a yarn, (fishing, politics, rugby etc etc,) & not forgetting the overnight trips tradditional continental breakfast, beans, eggs, bacon, toast, & a wicked coffee !

The Manutere is a solid fishing platform of which i have spent many enjoyable hours aboard, and hope to spend many more !!!!

Cheers Brett, till next time ! (soon)
