A lot of snapper caught

We had to cancel last Sunday’s trip due to bad weather but managed to get Monday in with most of the people booked, so that was a bonus. Not a bad day either and good fishing with a lot of snapper caught. Wednesday was similar conditions but mostly tarakihi with a couple of snapper.

The bigger tides we get in winter around the new moon seem to have more influence on the fishing, often more inconsistent, bigger currents, generally a bit harder. Snapper are less affected by current, often it’s what brings them to the boat, conversely, it’s why they can be so fickle. There one minute, bit of a wind or tide shift, gone the next.

We got Saturday in, ok steady fishing, tarakihi and pink maomao mainly, but the N/N.E front coming through killed the next few days.

Brett & the Manutere, well i must say that over the last 8 years or more i have been out on day & overnight trips plus the TGA game fishing one base & charter tournaments with Brett, you would be hard pushed to find a better skipper who will do his upmost to put you on the fish !!! & i mean go the extra mile !! literally, always good for a yarn, (fishing, politics, rugby etc etc,) & not forgetting the overnight trips tradditional continental breakfast, beans, eggs, bacon, toast, & a wicked coffee !

The Manutere is a solid fishing platform of which i have spent many enjoyable hours aboard, and hope to spend many more !!!!

I wanted to write to you to acknowledge what a great fishing charter you are running on board the manutere. We have been on numerous trips with you lately, and always returned home with fish,after having a great day out with Brett. We have found Brett to be very knowledgeable,friendly and always keen for a laugh. we have been on many different charters over the years, and the manutere rates very highly.

Ironically, I own my own boat, yet love a day out on the manutere.

Keep up the great work. Look forward to seeing you next time!
