Last week was another fairly quiet one and we ended up doing Sunday only as The weather was still not good on Saturday. We mainly worked the shallower water around the Middle Ground and Papamoa areas.
The tarakihi are starting to show up more in close now, with a few sizeable snapper [and quite a few little ones] among them.
There was a bonus for everyone when some humpback whales were sighted cruising around not too far from the entrance.
They're not seen all that often so a great end to the day.

Brett & the Manutere, well i must say that over the last 8 years or more i have been out on day & overnight trips plus the TGA game fishing one base & charter tournaments with Brett, you would be hard pushed to find a better skipper who will do his upmost to put you on the fish !!! & i mean go the extra mile !! literally, always good for a yarn, (fishing, politics, rugby etc etc,) & not forgetting the overnight trips tradditional continental breakfast, beans, eggs, bacon, toast, & a wicked coffee !
The Manutere is a solid fishing platform of which i have spent many enjoyable hours aboard, and hope to spend many more !!!!

They had a great time and a special thanks to Brett for making the day so enjoyable for them!!! Jordan has not stopped talking about his day out fishing and has been proudly showing the photos of his day to everyone he comes into contact with!! They would love to go out again next year if we return to the BOP if Brett would have them on board again!!

Thank you for a great day yesterday. The trip was a surprise getaway for Robs 60th birthday and none of us had done a charter trip before nor can we fish for Terakihi as snapper, trevally and kingfish are target species in the Coromandel.
A most enjoyable day
