Very strong currents from the East

The big tides are still having an effect on the fishing, with very strong currents from the East  continuing. A bit frustrating as the fish are here, but bite times a short and sweet. We  took a group of regulars out for a kingfish/Hapuku trip and got a couple of nice kingies and a mixture of gemfish and a Hapuku, losing  a good few due to the inconsistent drifts, with wind and swell against the current yet again. This was a great experience once again and i have picked up some more tips which i can carry forward, your knowledge is extensive and you don\'t mind passing this on. Not only was the fishing great but i meet new people and have been lucky to share this experience with them. Even Kent the visitor from Australia enjoyed himself and the chilly bins were full of beautiful Terakihi which all the families have enjoyed eating.

    Hi Brett,
     
    I enjoyed my fishing during my last trip to Tauranga. The fishes caught was really delicious...Taratiki. I couldn't wait to eat them, so, I cooked a few fillets at the Bay Palm Motel where I stayed. I brought the rest back to Perth and my family just loved them.
     
    Just a note that you should be aware of so that you can advise all future Australians who fish with you and want to bring the fishes home. The fishes MUST be headless, gilled and gutted. Remember, must not have heads. I decleared my fishes and the first questions asked was whether I removed the head (which I did) and since my fishes were also gutted and gilled, I could bring in ALL(including the fillets).

    Just wanted to say, on behalf of the House of Travel Boys , a big thanks to you and your deckie for such a great time.  The boys loved every minute of it, oh, I guess, apart from the few chunderers the first nite.  I know we’ll certainly recommend your charters to others who are interested in a great day out.  The boys got 2 bags of fish each to take home, which was a bonus.
