HAPUKA FISHING TRIPS

Hapuka fishing for the deep water species is a very interesting form of fishing, with many different species available to be caught. The deep water knolls out of Tauranga have caught many trophy fish over the years, and are continuing to produce these beautiful eating, hard fighting monsters of the deep.

I hope this La Ninya pattern stays

Still pretty reasonable fishing overall, although an overnighter to Mayor was a toughie, heaps of current all around the island. The Eastern side produced some tarakihi, and a few small kingies outside Honeymoon Bay, but the lightning show was  the highpoint [and the torrential rainstorm]. Around Motiti and Brewis/Astrolabe has been quite consistent, but you have to keep moving, catch the hungry ones  and move on. I hope this La Ninya pattern stays, I’m not a big fan of El Nino and the constant N.W to S.W winds, but as they...

WHAT OUR FANTASTIC CLIENTS SAY

  • Hi, Brett,

Just wanted to say, on behalf of the House of Travel Boys , a big thanks to you and your deckie for such a great time.  The boys loved every minute of it, oh, I guess, apart from the few chunderers the first nite.  I know we’ll certainly recommend your charters to others who are interested in a great day out.  The boys got 2 bags of fish each to take home, which was a bonus.

    Thanks again.

    Cheers

    Paul

  • Hi there Brett, just a quick thank you for the lovely fishing trip we had today.

Myself my wife and parents had a fantastic time.

It may have been a bit choppy today but luckily my family didn't supply any extra burley and really enjoyed the trip. We have about 2kgs of Terakihi filets in the fridge which we look forward to enjoying tomorrow.

After trying different charter boats I have found Tauranga Marine Charters by far the best.

We really appreciate you helping and guiding my wife and parents who are first time fishers to get set up and get onto some fish.

Looking forward to doing it again sometime.

    Many thanks
    Aaron

  • What more can I say but once again simply magic mate, The Northpower Rotorua boy’s head back inland with a bounty of fresh fish and memories worthy of a book.

We have utilised your services on a few occasions and each time has been memorable taking home more than our fair share of fish, but this trip was exceptional.

I have been charter fishing with various parties and skippers but never have I been on an overnighter to Mayor and been home by 1130am with six plus hours of fishing left and chilly bins full of Snapper and Tarakihi, needless to say you had 10 very happy Northpower fisho's.

Cheers to Ben and Wade for their assistance, and for creating a little healthy competition amongst us, and for putting up with Les and his goofy photo poses all good fun mate, what a fantastic trip.

In fishing terms Brett you’re all keepers that more than measure up, look forward to the next trip or ten.

    Kindest Regards
    The Northpower Rotorua Boys
